Loving the rain!

It’s Saturday, we’ve reached the halfway point and as you can imagine, I already want to stay MUCH longer! The team’s desires range from wanting to stay a little longer and eagerness to see family…all typical for mission trips.

It has rained all day (and last night) with some really heavy downpours. For us desert folks, this has been a real treat and we find ourselves gravitating to the balcony and just watching and listening to the rain. Despite the rain, we were still able to get out of the house and shop for souvenirs for family and friends. Lots to see and experience, plus we got a chance to practice our currency conversion skills. We are thankful to Jessica for the conversion cheat sheet otherwise some of us would still be at the market doing math :).

Once we return home, we headed to Tagumpay Evangelical Church. Andy shared a message of encouragement (Colossians 3:1-17) with Pastor Irwin and their praise team, they sang a song for us, we sang for them and we finished our evening singing together. It was a sweet time of fellowship particularly because their praise team consists of 6 young people, ages 11-14!! Once again, we were amazed at the bold and courageous spirit of these young people as they sang about and for Christ!

Tomorrow morning (Sunday), we head to church and will be singing our special number, “Christ Crucified”. It’s no coincidence that our visit to encourage the Tagumpay praise team actually turned out to be a reminder and encouragement for all us…..
Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17 ESV)

Love and blessings to you all!

  1. Greetings, we just wanted you to know that we pray for each of you by name daily. We look forward to seeing the fruit that this trip will bear back in the “hood”. Love you all!

Oh how sweet is the fellowship of the saints! Seeing your smiling faces amid those you are ministering to and those who are ministering to you just makes me smile. I know our wonderful God is using each one of you in a very special way. Missing you and praying for you each day. Looking forward to hearing how you were used and touched by His hand. Love to all!

We give thanks to our Lord for Him working in your hearts and drawing such sweet little ones to hear His voice. I pray the little ones have shelter in such weather. This has prompted me to pray for the homeless youth and to be thankful for what He provides!
