Mission Trip to Thailand!!

Happy New Year!!

I’m so excited to share with you another mission trip in which I will participate this summer.  Many of you have faithfully followed and supported my missionary travels to Kenya, Cameroon and the Philippines. Well, at the end of May, I am honored to be a part of a team from my church (The Church at South Mountain) that will minister for 10 days in Thailand.  The purpose of this trip is to assist full-time missionaries our church is supporting.  We will be working with Dr. Doug Derbyshire and his wife, Cheryl, who are missionaries with the International Mission Board.  The Derbyshire’s regularly conduct week-long mobile medical clinics in rural parts of Thailand that are often unreached with the Gospel.  The goal of each of these clinics is to treat the physical ailments of many Thai people who generally have no access to healthcare AND bring the saving message of Jesus Christ to hundreds who have never heard it before.

My role will be primarily in the areas of evangelism and teaching English in one of these rural, unreached areas where the mobile health clinic operates.  I’m very excited to have the opportunity to establish relationships with the Thai children and join local Thai believers to tell what God has done in Christ to many people who will hear it for the first time.  The Bible commands believers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…”(Matt. 28:19).  The privilege of participating in this  mission will allow me to fulfill Christ’s command.

I am asking for you to partner with me in several ways.  First, I ask that you pray for me and the my team.  It’s important that we are prepared  to face the spiritual, emotional and physical challenges to come.  Second, pray for humility and unity for our team as seek to minister, in our words and actions.  Third, pray that we might form lasting friendships with our brothers and sisters in Thailand.

As you might expect, there is a financial burden to ministering in Thailand.  The total cost will be $2100 per person.  Therefore, if you are able, I ask that you consider partnering with me through financial support.  If you are able to do so, please message me by email(ksgirl47@hotmail.com) or Facebook with your contact information and I will provide you a support form.  All donations are tax-deductible and checks should be made payable to The Church at South Mountain.  The deadline  for me to raise the entire amount is March 15, 2013.

I thank you in advance for your support, prayers and encouragement as I prepare for this trip and look forward to sharing my experiences on this blog, before, during and after the trip.  Be sure to make yourself a follower to this blog so you will receive regular updates.

Love and blessing….Kimberly
